NEW YORK, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted West Chile Rise at 20:30:07 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 41.08 degrees south latitude and 86.60 degrees west longitude. ■
